Two Days of Thunder in Gatineau-Ottawa
The 2013 Edition of the Wings over Gatineau-Ottawa Air Show brings together vintage warbirds and classic aircraft from the golden age of aviation in Canada and the United States. On September 14 and 15th, on the 73rd anniversary of the Battle of Britain, the skies over Ottawa Gatineau will be the stage for a thrilling family-oriented aerial circus, featuring aircraft such as the Golden Hawk F-86, Spitfire, Hurricane, P-51 Mustang, Lancaster, Yellow Wings biplanes, DC-3, Canso Flying Boat, the Canadian Harvard Aerobatic Team, and much more. Kids will thrill to the spectacular and nimble areobatics of Rick Volker and his Hot Pink Sukhoi. One of the highlights will be world-reknown Wing Walker Carol Pilon, a native of the Outaouais region!
Experience interactive displays, get up close to legendary aircraft, speak with the pilots and the people who maintain these classic aircraft and watch as re-enactors recreate military scenes from the Second World War.
Wings over Gatineau is a family-oriented event, with living history, children’s activities, plenty of food and refreshments and hours of fun for kids and adults alike. The aircraft and other artifacts on display celebrate the great aviation history of Canada and present to our youth the lessons of a generation of heroes. On the wings of history go the leaders of tomorrow.
