Thank you to all of our hard-working volunteers!
(Just a note that we are still recruiting for our air show. This is an ideal opportunity for high school students in need of volunteer hours. Please visit the following link: http://www.vintagewings.ca/en-ca/volunteer.aspx)
Please follow signage to the designated Volunteer/Staff Parking lot located directly to your right as you enter the airport property (south field). If you are planning to be dropped off please arrange to be dropped off and/or picked up on Industriel Blvd.
Volunteer check-in runs from 7:00-8:00am and is located at the Vintage Wings hangar gate entrance. All air show volunteers, with the exception of Marshallers, are asked to check-in upon arrival at the Volunteer/Member Check-In booth. From here you will be given a volunteer t-shirt, lunch ticket, and shown where to meet your team leader.
Volunteer Food and Drink
As an air show volunteer, a free lunch will be provided to you in the Volunteer Tent upon presentation of your lunch ticket. Lunch will be available from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Please make sure to bring a water bottle so you can refill it throughout the day at one of our hydration stations and in the Volunteer Tent.
Volunteers are asked to bring a refillable water bottle. Water refill stations will be available onsite.
Volunteer Dress – Come prepared, rain or shine
Please dress appropriately. If the day is sunny and hot, shorts and your volunteer t-shirt may be in order. Bring sunscreen and use it, even if it’s hazy. Wear a cap or hat. Protect your eyes with sunglasses. On a cold, gloomy day (which should not occur, as we have ordered only fantastic weather), you will want to bundle into warmer clothes and come equipped with rainwear and umbrellas. When the weather is uncertain, as is so often the case in September, dress in layers that can be removed as the day warms up. The air show is great entertainment and it is more fun when you are prepared for all conditions. Remember, you’ll be out on a hot, flat area without a lot of natural shade, out there hot is VERY hot, cold is VERY cold and wet is VERY wet! And remember, we need you here, rain or shine.
On Sunday after the air show and after the site has been cleaned up, there will be a thank you BBQ in the VIP tent for all volunteers and air show personnel.Bénévoles
